The designers from the watchmaking company Urwerk keep surprising all ultra-modern watch amateurs. This time they presented a watch whose dial design is based on the idea of a merry-go-round that features big screwdriver-looking hands going round the dial indicating hours. The minutes in their turn are shown at the lower part of the dial at different levels. In spite of a very original looks of the dial it is rather easy to tell the time with it.

“This UR-203 is a wild idea of Martin Frei (Urwerk co-founder and designer)”, explains Felix Baumgartner, Urwerk co-founder and master watchmaker. “Martin imagined a stripped down model distilled to its pure essence. We had to start again at the beginning to develop this model, we sat down at the drawing board and completely reconsidered the satellite module”.

The new Urwerk UR-203 watch is notable for one more original improvement: the “oil-change” indicator. The indicator informs the wearer when a service is due; an operation recommended every three years of movement operation.

The new Urwerk timepiece features a black PE-CVD coated platinum micro-sanded case with a titanium back plate. It houses a calibre UR 7.03 39-jewel mechanical automatic winding movement regulated by double turbines.
